Client Bio
MyLabsDirect is a full-service diagnostic laboratory. They serve both retail and corporate clients via physical locations, mobile concierge visits, and mail-in kits.
Overview
MyLabsDirect partnered with Invene to launch a patient portal for their diagnostic testing services. This patient portal needed to be user-friendly and integrate with MyLabsDirect’s Laboratory Information System (LIS). The purpose of this patient portal was to give MyLabsDirect a competitive advantage in their direct-to-consumer and business-to-business offerings.
Challenge
While the patient portal started off with simple requirements, it quickly grew in complexity. The COVID-19 pandemic gave MyLabsDirect many new business opportunities, so Invene had to rapidly iterate and launch features to meet the evolving needs of the market. Since this software was used by consumers, Invene dedicated a lot of time towards gathering user feedback, investigating usage analytics, and updating the patient portal accordingly.
Solution
Invene created a mobile-responsive web portal with many modular components. It integrated directly with MyLabsDirect LIS and scheduling system to create a seamless patient experience. The portal allowed users to see their upcoming appointments, register their test kits, and understand their lab results in human-readable language.
Result
The MyLabsDirect patient portal became a critical selling point for new business opportunities. They now have superior software compared to their competitors. It allows them to win more deals with universities, employers, and provider groups. With Invene’s help, they continue to add more features to constantly innovate in the laboratory space.
